Why Attend OBI?

There are many different reasons young people and their families choose OBI. Some want a Christian education and Christian influence. Others enjoy the independence a boarding school gives in preparation for college. Often they have been struggling academically in public schools. These students benefit from our Tutoring Lab and our 1:11 teacher/student ratio. Still others may be experiencing social or family problems. Whatever the reason for coming, Oneida's structure and Christian approach provide the setting many young people need to make necessary changes in their lives.

"Although I consider my academic experience worthy and important, I value more the life lessons and morals I have acquired at Oneida."

What Does It Cost?

Monthly room and board for boarding students is $535 per month for U.S. students ($475 for Kentucky residents) and $9400 (for 9 months of school) for international students. No matter which amount is paid, the room and board charged is less than one half of our actual cost of maintaining a student for a month. There is an additional annual entrance fee for each student, which is equal to one month's room and board fee. Parents are expected to send an additional $45 to $60 per month for personal spending. Checks are to be made out to the student. Students' spending money is kept in our student "bank", and students can withdraw up to $2 per day.

Enrolling at OBI

Oneida believes in accepting a student whenever he or she needs the ministry we provide. Therefore, we enroll young people throughout the year. The primary exception to this open timetable is the three-week period before a required break. Generally, as long as a student is physically and emotionally able to be away from home and chooses to come to OBI, he/she will be accepted.

We charge a $35 processing fee per application. Because we want our students and their families to know as much as possible about the Oneida school before enrolling, we have a detailed orientation process. Our admissions personnel conduct telephone interviews as an initial step. The prospective student and his family then tour the campus - always by appointment and always on a Sunday.
